Modernist Splendor – 1410 Park

Modernist splendor –  Exquisite living on four levels with that tranquil “tree house” experience as you relax among the leaves and overlook a soothing stream.  There are also 3 beautiful neighborhood parks nearby.

Main level Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen are all beautifully defined – yet open for relaxed living and easy entertaining.

Five bedrooms are distributed among three levels.  Anyone desiring a main level bedroom need not worry.  This home was built with an elevator shaft in place (presently without an elevator) for easy transition between the master bedroom and main living/entertaining area.

This home has an amazing list of amenities/upgrades – copper roof, mosquito mister along back deck, central vac, several storage rooms, fire escape hatch on top level, 4 full baths with 3 jacuzzi tubs, hard piped outdoor gas grill, wired for sound inside and out, 2 HVAC systems with 3 zones (and a built in humidifer).

Designed by Lee Porter Butler in 1965 and extensively renovated in 2000 with the help of Will Alphin.  Check out North Carolina Modernist Houses to learn more about Mr. Butler.

During the thorough 2000 renovation, entire systems were replaced- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, windows.  Copper Roof was installed.  Crawl space completely lined and new pump system installed.  The courtyard in the front of the house was created.  Whew!

Originally, the home had lots of small rooms and very small deck out back.  The stairwell was not enclosed prior to 2000.
The renovation resulted in a solid child-friendly home with larger rooms and more open space.

The kitchen was renovated in spring of 2012 by Greg Paul.   Upgrades include high-end cabinetry, counters and equipment.

All that and a great location  – Cameron Park.    A wonderful home and neighborhood for family and folks of all ages.
