The neighborhood of Boylan Heights is holding its annual ArtWalk this weekend. On Sunday December 2nd from 1-5pm you can visit 39 different Boylan Heights homes and admire (or purchase) the works of over 100 Raleigh area artists.
This is the 15th year for ArtWalk. It’s a popular event and seems to get bigger every year. Check it out if you can. It’s a great way to get a little exercise and make progress on your Christmas shopping.
There is no admission charge, but keep an eye on the weather. If the weather is severe, ArtWalk will be postponed until the following weekend.
Attending ArtWalk is a great way to see one of Raleigh’s historic neighborhoods. Most Boylan Heights homes date from the 1910’s and 1920’s with bungalows ruling the roost. Boylan Heights developers tried something a little different and it became the first Raleigh neighborhood with curvilinear streets.
There is a fantastic view of downtown Raleigh from the eastern edge of the neighborhood. Boylan Heights is a wonderfully unique place to live.
